Detalló la alcaldesa que asistió a un taller a la Universidad de Washington, donde ciudades exitosas compartieron su experiencia y la clave de su éxito era precisamente la continuidad de los gobiernos, porque no se interrumpían los proyectos, si un gobierno dejaba pendiente un tema en servicios públicos o una obra, la siguiente administración la atendía.
Destacó que en esos casos el éxito se lograba con una continuidad de al menos 15 años, que por desgracia no encaja en los gobiernos mexicanos, porque no se gobierna con una misma visión, aunque existan las mismas preocupaciones, “tu esperas que el aprendizaje se traslade al siguiente periodo administrativo para que realmente se vea el beneficio”.
Ejemplificó el caso de la laguna del Valle de las Garzas, “cada tres años se inicia el tema, se pierde el tiempo y el recurso, además el daño sigue, avanza, ya son trece años desperdiciados”.
¿Habrá reelección para Gabriela Benavides?
Puede darse el caso, pero eso depende mucho del partido, de cómo se vayan acomodando las cosas, hasta ahorita, en 2017, sigo siendo miembro activo del PAN, conservo mis derechos a salvo, de continuar así existirían muchas posibilidades; destacó la alcaldesa.
Ante la pregunta de si cuenta con la simpatía de la militancia porteña y el capital político para lograr la reelección, Gaby Benavides destacó que: “en la contienda interna yo apoyaba a un candidato distinto al que ganó la presidencia del Comité Estatal, le ganamos a Enrique Michel por 60 votos de miembros activos que nos dieron su confianza”.
